After a welcome from Principal Mr Nigel Fairbairn , Selai Mautaia and Jack McQueen gave a reflection and prayer. Amy Neville sang with her mum , Janine, accompanying her on the piano. Amy then backed up when she joined fellow College Captain, Lachlan Wearing who gave their speeches. Chairman of the Board and past Thornburgh captain, Mr Chris Hesp, addressed the gathering and the Senior cohort. College Vice Captains, Madalyn Weicks and Damien Bige addressed their Year 12 cohort with memories and funny stories for each of the graduating students.
After the College Song, The Bilbies Class, P&F 's Mrs Shiralee Critchley and Mr Max Batt on behalf of the Blackthorn Past Students Association, presented the graduating class with certificates and gifts.
The Year 12 then did their final Blackthorn War Cry as students and ten filed through the guard of honour of staff and students to step outside the gate.
