Remembrance Day Service and Colours Assembly

The BTC community commemorated Remembrance Day  in the Blackthorn Hall. There service was led by the Senior history class which gave an insight into the significance of  the 11 th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. There was also a slide presentation to give visual representation.

Three of the Year 1/2 students laid wreaths at the lectern. The class had been making the wreaths in their art lesson.

After the Remembrance Day  service, Mr Bowden presented students who had achieved Colour recognition for outstanding effort in their field , whether it be public speaking or a sport. Both Half Colours and Full Colours  were presented. encouragement Award certificates were also presented to students for playing their sport with good attitude , commitment and sportsmanship. The students were congratulated by BTC Principal Mr Fairbairn and Mr Bowden.

Other students were acknowledged for their selction into regional NQ or FNQ teams. Babetha Nona - FNQ AFL, Zahra  Shadbolt,  Alix Reid , Kelsey Jones(shadow) NQ Softball and Jaimi Rossow NQ Tennis.

Nikita Wearing was presented with her Silver Level for Duke of Edinburgh's International Award.
