Jessee Santo Sizzles in the 100m Sprint

BTC's Jessee Santo has broken the 41 year record for the Open Girls 100m Sprint at The Interschool Athletics. Jessee stopped the clock at 12.12 beating Narelle Franks' 1976 record of 12.7.  Narelle watched as Jessee took the title and later congratulated her.

Well done Jessee... a great legacy to leave in your final year at BTC.

Interschool Athletics Results:

BTC 3rd girls relays, 2nd in boys relays.
BTC girls placed 2nd to ASSG ( only 51 points difference)
BTC boys placed 3rd.
BTC placed 3rd overall
Andre Hill Warner and Colin Davis were Runner Ups in their Divisons.
Darby Butler was Age Champion for 12 Yrs Boys.

Jordan Brook, Kelsey Jones and Annie Luckman were Runner Up in their Age Groups.
Tenisha Soloman and Jessee Santo were Age Champions.

New events for 12 Yrs saw records set by Azaria Woolla in 12 Yrs Javelin and Jordan Brook in Triple Jump.
Tilona Ahmet broke the record for 15Yrs Shotput 10.00m and Darby Butler broke the record for the 12 Yrs High Jump 1.38m.

Jessee Santo broke the Open Long Jump 5.15m and 100m Sprint Records. The 12.12  sprint broke the previous record of 12.7 that had stood since 1976.

Well done to all athletes who gave their best efforts.

BTC Students Cheer the PNG Hunters to Minor Premiership

The  PNG students went to the  last Blackhawks vs PNG Hunters Rugby League game on 12 th August in Townsville.  The PNG Hunters have gone on to become the Minor Premiers for the QLD Cup Competition. 
Allen Rau's Dad and the Vice Captain of the team are also in the photo along with the BTC PNG students. A great night was had by all. Thanks to Marnie for taking them.

Book Week

Junior School students had a fantastic day today. They listened to stories written by the Year 9 students and came dressed as their favourite book character for the best dressed competition. Everyone's costumes looked great! There was even a special appearance from Steve Irwin...Crickey!
