Rostrum Voice of Youth

On Saturday 21st April a small, but dedicated team of BTC students participated in the 2012 Rostrum Voice of Youth Public Speaking Competition at ASSG.

In the senior division, competitors had to deliver an 8 minute prepared speech, followed by a 3 minute impromptu speech.  We only had one competitor in this division, Justin Todd, who convincingly took first place.

In the junior division, competitors had to deliver a 6 minute prepared speech, followed by a 2 minute impromptu speech.  We had three competitors in this division, Lachlan Wearing, Julia Sturmfels and Madalyn Weicks.  Once again we had success with Lachlan taking first place and Julia was runner-up.  Madalyn also put in a very strong performance.

Well done to all four competitors.  Justin and Lachlan will now compete in the Regional Finals in Townsville during May so good luck to you both!
