Japan Trip 2014

We not only made it to Japan in one piece but have also survived the first 3 days with no accidents or illnesses.  The trip over was uneventful, which makes for a long flight (7hrs), and we were all met at Kansai International Airport by the smiling faces of our host families.  While the students were all a little timid to begin with they have all settled in to life in a Japanese home with enthusiasm.  There have been many practices for the students to come to terms with, such as having to take their shoes off at the front door, even at school, and wear inside shoes, socks or bare feet.  The food has also been a challenge for some but all have faced this challenge head on and tried the various unfamiliar dishes.  The host families have all been very welcoming and all took the students out on Sunday to immerse them in Japanese Culture.  Madison Chinn was lucky enough to be taken to Kyoto and dress in traditional Kimono along with her host sister Kotoe.

All are having a great time and looking forward to the next week and a half of planned activities.
