Senior student's Speech Day started with the Year in Review, showing once more the varied currricular and co-curricular activities the students have on offer to particiapte in. College Captains, Georgia Masterson and Hudson Fox gave their entertaining reports before Hudson, Esa, and Georgie (accompanied by Digby on guitar) presented a moving rendition of "Count on Me ". After the Blackheath College Song, Mrs Moxham gave her Principal's Address. The Senior Specialist Vocal Group performed "I Believe" before BTC Chair of the Directors, Mrs McCubben addressed the audience. The singing of the Thornburgh College Hymn led into the presentation of Middle and Senior School Awards. With the Sporting and other Co-curricular awards having been presented at Co-curricular Night, the awards presented at Speech Day included, Subject and Academic Merit Awards, Prize recipients and Class Proxime Accessit and Dux. The BTC Stage Band performed "Walking On SunShine" followed by Mrs Moxham' introduction of the 2012 Leadership Team. A full report on the team will be in a future BTC Briefing.
2012 Blackthorn Captain is Zoe Curtis with Melinda Ryan as Vice Captain.
2012 Thornburgh Captain is Callum Smith with Scott Cerqui as Vice Captain.
The morning ended with the College Song before an delicious morning tea was enjoyed on the lawns in front of Thorburgh House.
