Secondary Interschool Sport

This week saw BTC against CTSHS in both netball and rugby league with a ot of good results to BTC. While not all results are in I  have heard the 13yrs rugby league narrowly went down to CTSHS while the undefeated had a convincing win 44-0. The 1sts had a hard fought win  by the narrowest of margins. After Allen Rau opened with the first try, CTSHS hit back, swinging the ball wide through its fleet footed back line. At half time BTC was down 4-14 and had a big job ahead of them. coach Max Batt must have drilled the boys to hold the ball, complete the sets and play football because the second half saw them fire up.  the boys ran stronger , held the ball and made breaks. Mitch Fogarty maneuvered over for a try and Damien Bige had a good break, an excellent dummy and powered over for another try. Mitch converted all tries. The score was 16 all. CTSTH hit back with a converted try to lead before Mitch put his head down and pushed over for another converted try. Score was 22 all......with 9 minutes to go.  Mitch popped a field goal to edge BTC ahead  but the Thornburgh boys had to dig deep to defend and control the ball.  At the final hooter all breathed a sigh of relief with the final score 23-22.
The 1sts Netball team had a convincing win over CTSHS with a score of 40-1.
