Blitzers played first in the Intermediate A Division where they were up against Gems-, who were undefeated for the season. The BTC team came out firing and took an early lead . This lead extended to a halftime score of 17-7.In the third quarters the Gems came back fighting and closed the gap with the team taking the field in the last quarter still up with the score 20-14. The BTC girls were tiring and some handling errors were made giving the Gems a chance to overtake them. The crowds of BTC supporters were cheering them on with the buzzer finally sounding with the BTC Blitzers winning by the smallest of margins 23-22. What a game! Great effort girls and Coach Mrs Cerqui and Manager Mrs Stoll.
Teah Schaeffer was named player of the final while Hayley Condon received the award for Intermediate A Best and Fairest for the Season.
Next up was the BTC Bees who took on Gabes Blaze. On paper BTC Bees were favourites having gone straight into the finals previously. Again BTC started strongly posting points and leading in the first quarter. Once again in the last quarter the Gabes Blaze came back strongly until there was only a few points difference. The BTC team dug deep and a few quick goals gave them the win on the final buzzer BTC 21 Gabes Blaze13. Well done girls and Coach Ms B and Manager Mrs Walsh.
Ashlee Walsh was named player of the final.
In the A Reserve Division, although we had no teams in the final, Zoe Krause was awarded Best and Fairest for the Season.
Well done to all BTC teams , coaches and managers for a very busy netball season.
