After being greeted by Prep ad year One and presented with a posy of flowers by Courtney and Nattie, the Governor made her way to the Landsberg Library by way of the Memorial Fountain. College Captain Fred Batt escorted her and told her the history of the fountain and the original fig tree that grew there.
In the Library, Her Excellency met with Yr 2-6 and sat with them for a story before donating a book about Government House in Brisbane. College Captain Jaimeen Kenni escorted the Governor to the Wall of Achievement where they discussed some of the recipients.
Her Excellency enjoyed finding the names of her relatives on the Honour Boards in Blackthorn Hall before she Rod Goodwin escorted her on a tour of Thornburgh House. At the morning tea she was delighted to receive from Ann Gibbon and Chris Patterson a booklet especially made outlining her relatives time at BTC. After a welcoming speech from Chairman Chris Hesp and a response from Her Excellency, she spent the rest of her time mingling and chatting with guests and Year 12 students. After walking through the guard of honour formed by the secondary students, Her Excellency, the Governor of Queensland, Ms Penelope Wensley AC left to continue her busy tour of the district.
