The first game against Chanel College, Gladstone ( Mr Gilbert's team) saw BTC claim the game 13-10. Best player for the game was Merial Kenni.
In the second game BTC had a few lapses of concentration to lose the lead in an up and down games which saw Holy Spirit, Mackay, pip BTC 14-11. Player of the match was Rachael Dahl.
In the 3rd game against Mercy College, Mackay, BTC played good solid netball to beat them 16-8 with Seiarne Reid's spot on shooting earning her the player of the game.
Last game for the day and BTC had a good win over St Augustine's Brisbane 19-13. Player of the game was Merial Kenni. (Day 2 story after Day 1 photos) (Day 4 after day 2) (Last day at the end)
Day 2
Our first games against St Francis was a nail biter. Down 2 at half time the girls came back to be 1 up but in the last minutes of the game and a foot injury to Morgan Williams saw BTC go down 14-11. Player of the game was Seiarne Reid.
The 2nd game against St Thomas More saw the BTC girls go down 23-11. Once again Seiarne claimed the player of the game.
The 3rd game and BTC found it hard to lift with Morgan out and Seiarne going off 2nd half to rest a hurt ankle. The team went down to Trinity College with Rachael Dahl player of the game.
Day 4
Game 1. games are now longer with 4 quarters. BTC is now in a must win situation to keep in the run for a trophy. The girls played St Mary's from Kingaroy. After going to a 3 point lead after the first quarter they let St Mary's come back to a 3 point lead in the 2nd quarter. The girls dug deep and won the 3rd quarter and held and increased their lead to win the game 18-13. BTC now has to play ASSG and win in order to play in the final game tomorrow.
Day 5
The final game saw BTC girls coming out on top and claiming a 3rd position in their Division.The girls took to the court against Trinity College which had beaten us in our previous encounter. The team " had their games faces on" and played good fair netball. Excellent shooting by Seairne Reid and Sally Palmer saw the points clock up, while Jemma Robinson and Rachael Dahl kept the opposition points to a minimum. In the centres Merial Kenni, Katie Williams and Madi Smith kept the ball moving down the court while Micheala Henry and Kaylin Laffey thwarted Trinity's attack with strong defence. Injured Morgan Williams cheered from the bench. At half time BTC had a commanding lead of 16-9. Trinity were worried so changed their players positions and came out firing in the third quarter to start clawing back the BTC girls lead. The Blackheath girls dug deep , settled the play and finished off the game , winning 30-24.A great win to finish the Carnival on. Jemma Robinson was given player of the game. The BTC exchanged small gifts with the Trinity girls at the end of the game. Thanks to Mrs Cerqui for her time and effort coaching the team, Mr Fairbairn and all the supporters who came to cheer the girls on.
