BTC Club Netball Teams in Finals

Congratulations to the 15yrs  BTC Bees and the 14yrs BTC Blitzers who are playing in the Netball Finals this Saturday. While the BTC Bees went through to the final after a quarter final win, the BTC Blitzers had to win the semi final against ASSG in order to progress to the finals. After being down by 3 points after the first quarter the girls rallied and played a superb second quarter to take the lead by 5 points. Going into the last quarter BTC was still up but ASSG was throwing everything at them and closed the gap to a 3 point difference. BTC dug deep and with lots of cheering from the girl boarders they surged again, to win 27-21.  Well done girls.  Good luck to both teams for the finals on Saturday.

Prep Transition Morning

The Kindy Kids coming to BTC Prep in 2015 had a transition morning where they worked, played and ate with the current Prep students. all students settled well and enjoyed working on various maths, language and motor skill activities.

Leadership Challenge Day

In preparation for leadership positions as Seniors next year,the Year 11 students were involved in a Leadership Challenge Day. The students were given puzzles and problems to help sort out using team work The students and staff had a fun and interesting day.

Subject Selection

Year 10 students had presentations to help them decide on their subject selections for 2015. After a presentation in the Landsberg Library student were free to visit the tables with subject presentations and talk to the  teachers.

Awards at Assembly

Many BTC students were acknowledged for awards and achievements they have obtained recently. Music students have received their exam marks with James Smallwood gaining Honours in his Grade 3 trumpet, India Aitchison  a Credit in her Grade 4 saxophone and Julia Sturmfels a Pass in her Grade 3 saxophone. Tuk  Kuwajima was presented a certificate for his selection in the NQ Schoolboys 15 years Rugby Union Team.Mrs Schulz then presented the Eisteddfod Visual Arts winners. Teah Schaeffer- Highly Commended 3 Dimensional Artwork, Naomi Holdcroft-1st Collage, Meaghan Bowden ,2nd Coloured Drawing,  Clint Rayment-2nd Painting, Evie Batt 1st-Painting and Jarrah Gough-1st Black and White Drawing.
Finally Jaimeen Kenni and Sean Tria presented Mr Fairbairn with the  Fred Freimann Secondary Shield for Performing Arts and the Perpetual  trophy for the best Primary School Band . Performing Arts  Drama successes included Jaimeen Kenni and Katie Williams 1st Duologue, Katie Williams 2nd Monolgue, Jemimah Phillott, Madi Smith,Ashlee Walsh, Jaimeen Kenni 2nd Improvisation and Ashlee Walsh Highly Commended- Monologue. Music successes included James Smallwood 2nd Trumpet, India Aitchison 2nd Saxophone,SoloVocalists- Olivia Treacy, Elissa Harrison, Selai Mautaia HC Amy Neville 2nd, Jaimeen Kenni 1st, Merial Kenni HC . Amy and Jaimeen also received 1st in the duet. In the groups BTC placed 1st in the Senior Vocal Group, 1st and 2nd in the Senior Choir.
