2017 BTC Sports Captain, Jessee Santo had a very busy weekend. At first she was in Adelaide to represent QLD in the National Secondary Schools Athletics Carnival, before flying up to Brisbane to play 7's Rugby for QLD at Ballymore.
Jessee jumped well in her long jump but with only three jumps she had to hit the mark for every jump. She was excited to be picked for the team and enjoyed the experience of high level competition. While she produced credible jumps that had her in the competition, if she could have found the jump she did at the State titles she could have walked away with Silver. Thats the things about competition.........getting the time/ distance needed when it counts the most. She left the Nationals happy to have had the experience and friendships to line up for the QLD White Rugby team. For a girl that had only played a few games of Rugby, the hat trick of tries she produced one game showed her that she was capable at this level of Rugby. She also produced tries in other games, including the finals. Her team finished 5th from 10 teams. Jessee loved the Rugby and is keen to pursue this sport to see where it might take her as she develops her skills.
Well done Jessee. The BTC community is very proud of you.
