Secondary Interschool Swimming

With the loudest cheer squad ,by far, the BTC swim team was cheered on as they competed against the other colleges in the Interschool Swimming Carnival. The first event was the  50m freestyle.  Olivia Miller swam a 38.06 to place 3rd with Reagan Ernst touching 7th.Dorran Green  placed 3rd with Kascie McDonald 5th and Lily Brook 5th. Angeleah Corrigan  brought the crowd to their feet as she touched 1st with a slick time of 29.86 to set a new  record. Orry Ferguson and Liam Cashmere  swam well in a very competitive age group.Jessie Miller touched 3rd (32.81) with Catherine Weicks 6th.Ned Marshall claimed 5th and Owen Hyden 8th.Catherine Oliver swam a 34.31 to touch 2nd with Annie Luckman 5th.Adam Sheahan swam a strong race to touch 4th with Stacey Krause 6th. Jessee Santo swam a 32.74 to touch 2nd while Elissa Harrison swam strongly to claim 4th. Sam Shadbolt touched 5th with Alex Tupper-Osland filling in for Mitch Fogarty, claiming 6th.In the Open competition , Connor Essex and Ashlee Walsh touched 5th while Douglas Sealy and Belinda Uprichard placed 6th. Colin Davis and Alex Ford both won their race.

The next event was the 50m breaststroke. Dorren placed 3rd (59.05) with both Olivia and Andre Hill Warner  touching 5th in their races and Reagan 7th. Angeleah powered to a 41.38 1st with Lily  and Orry touching 5th and Darcy Russell 6th. Jessie placed 2nd (46.25) with Catherine W 5th. Robert Oliver touched 4th and Owen Hyden 8th Catherine O stopped the clock at 43.62 to claim 2nd while Annie touched 5th. Rhylie Thompson and Kelland Elliott touched 5th and 6th respectively. Jessee sizzled to touch 2nd (45.00) and Teah Schaefer placed 5th. Etta Sagon touched 4th, Connor Essex 5th, Lachlan Chu and Evie Batt 6th in their respective races. Colin and Alex F claimed the blue ribbon again.

The third event on the program was 100m freestyle. Dorren claimed a 3rd (1.33.63) with Kascie and Olivia M placing 5th and Reagan 7th. Angeleah   had the crowd on their feet again as she took 2 seconds off the 2000 record to stop the clock at 1.06.75 to claim 1st with Lily and Orry  5th and Jason Bulsey 6th. Jessie M touched 2nd (1.14.36) Catherine W and Ned claimed 6th and Owen 8th. Catherine O swam a 1.18.43 to place 2nd with Ronnie Critchley  4th, Rhylie 5th and Adam 6th. Elissa swam a 1.18.72 to place 4th , Hayley Condon  and Alex T 5th . Alex F placed 1st.

Teams gathered for the first of the school relays- Medley Relay.  The results were:-
12 yr Girls 3rd, 12 yr Boys just touched out for 2nd, 13 yrs Girls an inspirational 1st, 13yrs Boys didn't finish, 14yrs Girls 2nd, 14 yrs Boys 4th, 15 yrs Boys and Girls 3rd,  16 yrs Girls 2nd , 16yrs Boys 3rd, Open Girls and Boys 3rd.

The next event on the program was 50m backstroke.
 Olivia M , Reagan  and Kascie swam for BTC while Andre touched 5th. Angeleah touched 2nd (37.88).Jessie M touched  3rd, Catherine W 4th, Ned 7th, Michael Marsterson 8th. Catherine O  and Rhylie 5th, Tenisha 6th. Elissa claimed 4th with Hayley and Sam 6th. Belinda and Travis  touched 5th, Brodie and Etta 6th. Colin touched 1st and Alex F 2nd in their age groups.

The final individual event was the 50m butterfly.
Olivia M and Reagan swam well for BTC, while Kascie touched 2nd and Dorran 5th. Angeleah took the hat trick and broke her 3rd record of the night touching the wall at 32.91, Lily , Orry and Jessie M placed 5th. Ned claimed 7th and Konnor McDonald 8th. Ronnie powered down the lane to stop the clock at 44.31 and place 2nd while Catherine O claimed 3rd and Dion Rossow 6th. Jessee swam a 34.27 to claim 3rd ,Sam 3rd, Elissa 4th and Alex T 6th. Ashlee touched the wall in 3rd place. and Alex F touched out his rival to claim 1st.

The final relay event was the freestyle relay. results were:-
12 yr Girls and Boys 2nd, 13 yr Girls 2nd, 13 yr Boys 3rd, 14yr Girls 3rd, 14yrs Boys were just touched out for 4th, 15yr Girls 2nd, 15yr Boys 3rd,16 yr Girls 2nd, 16yr Boys 3rd, Open Girls 2nd  and Open Boys 3rd.

Congratulations to 13yr Age Champion Angeleah Corrigan, 14 yr Runner Up Jessie Miller, 15 yr Runner Up Catherine Oliver, 15 yr SWD Age Champion Colin Davis, 17 yr SWD Age Champion Alex Ford.
BTC placed 2nd in the Don Doyle Shield (12,13,14,15 yrs girls) and 3rd overall. Congratulations to all swimmers who gave their best efforts at the carnival. The BTC pride was great to be part of.
