Secondary Interhouse Swimming Carnival

 The students arrived at the pool full of enthusiasm and colour ready to compete in the Secondary Interschool Swimming Carnival. With the 200m  freestyle having been swum the evening before, the first events of the day were the 50m freestyle.  Results from the 200m freestyle saw Jessee Santo touch 1^st ahead of Jaimi Rossow in the 13 years age group while in the 14 yrs Lachlan Corrigan and Keesha Whyte claimed 1sts, Tuk Kuwajima and Raven Guy  touched 2^nd in their respective races and Jayden Pickering and touching 3^rd. In the 15 yrs  events Haidyn Kettunen  and Madi Smith touched 1^st,  Dale Perrett and Kate Miller came 2^nd and Jemimah  Phillott was awarded 3^rd place.  The 16 yrs  race had Lucy Campbell and Darcy Ginns Larkin (House and College record at 2:14.78 ) as 1^st while Katie Williams and Jake Hillyear were 2^nd with Errol Miller claiming 3^rd points. In the Open event Sally Carrington and Harrison Phillott   touched 1^st, Hayley Whiting and Toby Paynter claimed 2^nd and while Shaunica Lee Cheu and Brandon swam spirited races to come 3^rd.

    The 13 yrs was the first 50 m race with Jaxson Gallagher swimming 1^st , Jack Gillatt 2^nd and Allan rau 3^rd in the boys event with Jessee Santo 1^st, Hayley Condon 2^nd Jaimi Rossow 3^rd in the girls race. 14 yrs boys had Lachlan Corrigan 1^st, Tuk Kuwajima 2^nd, and Daniel Windus 3^rd while in the girls event Keesha Whyte powered to a 1^st with Ashlee Walsh touching 2^nd and Raven Guy claiming 3^rd. Madi Smith and Dale Perrett won their resoective 15 yrs free races while in the boys  race Haidyn Kettunen touched 2^nd  followed by Colin Rayment. And in the girls race Kate Miller touched 2^nd  with Jemimah  Phillott claiming 3^rd. 16 yrs boys had another record from Darcy Ginns- Larkin (26.33) in claiming 1^st, Fred Batt 2^nd , Casey Henry 3^rd while in the girls event Lucy Campbell came in 1^st, Rachael Dahl 2^nd and Kaylin Laffey 3^rd. In Open event sally Carrington powered to 1^st place with Shaunica Lee Cheu 2^nd, Morgan Williams 3^rd and in the boys race Harrison Phillott claimed 1^st ahead of Toby Paynter 2^nd and Callum Brown 3^rd.

Second event was the 50m breaststroke with the 13yrs lining up first again. Jack Gillatt touched 1^st in the boys followed by Allan Rau 2^nd, Clint Rayment 3^rd while in the girl’s race  Jessee Santo touched  1^st, Sophie McLaren 2^nd and  Jaimi  Rossow 3^rd.   In the 14 yrs  boys event Lachlan Corrigan was 1^st, Jack McQueen 2^nd and Daniel Windus 3^rd while  Keesha Whyte finished 1^st for the girls and Evie Batt  was 2^nd with Raven Guy 3^rd. 15 yrs boys had Colin Rayment 1^st, Mark Lucas 2^nd, Haidyn Kettunen 3^rd while in the 15 yrs girls Madi Smith touched 1^st followed by Kate Miller 2^nd and Jemimah Phillott 3^rd. Darcy Ginns- Larkin claimed 1^st in the 16 yrs boys with fred Batt 2^nd and Jake Hillyear 3^rd while in the girls race placings were: Katie Williams 1^st, Rachael Dahl 2^nd and Melanie Jones 3^rd. In the final breaststroke race of the day, the Open event, Toby painter placed 1^st followed by Danny Rayment 2^nd and Harrison Phillott 3^rd with Morgan Williams powering away to the first place in the girls event  with sally Carrington touching 2^nd and Shaunica Lee Chau 3^rd.

 

 

 Swimmers were then marshalled in the  100m freestyle races. Jack Gillatt was the 1^st 13 yrs old boy while Clint Rayment came in 2^nd. In the girls 13 yrs event there was a close tussle for first with only .01 of a second difference between Jessee Santo 1^st and Hayley Condon 2^nd with Jaimi Rossow touching 3^rd. In the 14 yrs boys placings were  Lachlan Corrigan 1^st, Jayden Pickering 2^nd, Tuk Kuwajima 3^rd while the girls  were Keesha Whyte 1^st, Raven Guy 2^nd India Aitchison 3^rd. Haidyn Kettunen placed 1^st in the 15 yrs boys with Daniel  Simatis2nd and Dale Perrett 3^rd and in the 15 yrs girls Madi Smith came in 1^st, Kate Miller 2^nd and Jemimah Phillot 3^rd. Still record chasing, Darcy Ginns Larkin claimed fist and another record (59.93) followed by Jake Hillyear 2^nd and  Fred Batt 3^rd while in the girls race placings were: Lucy Campbell 1^st, Katie Williams2nd and Rachael Dahl 3^rd. The Senior students lined up for the   final 100m  freestyle races In the boys Open race Harrison Phillott  claimed 1^st followed by Toby Paynter 2^nd and Roy fisher 3^rd while in the girls the placings were: Sally Carrington 1^st, Shaunica Lee Cheu 2nd , Hayley Whiting 3^rd.

The first of the relays, Medley Relay saw the team spirit rise even more. In the Junior Girls  Archie came in 1^st with Bryce 2^nd and Bacon 3^rd while the Junior boys results were  black 1^st Bacon 2^nd Dickson  3^rd . The Senior relays had the girls placings Archie 1^st, Bacon 2^nd, Bryce 3^rd and the boys were Black 1^st Bacon 2^nd Dickson 3^rd.

The swimmers lined up behind the blocks for 50m  butterfly next.  13 yrs was only represented by the girls with Jessee Santo 1^st, Hayley Condon 2^nd and Jaimi Rossow 3^rd.In the 14yrs event Keesha Whyte claimed another 1^st  followed by Madalyn Weicks 2^nd, Raven Guy 3^rd while in the boys race  Lachlan Corrigan touched 1^st with Jayden Pickering claiming 2^nd. The 15 yrs had Dale Perrett 1^st and Haidyn Kettunen 2^nd while in the girls race Madi Smith powered to 1^st with Kate Miller 2^nd and Jemimah Phillott a closely touching 3^rd. Darcy Ginns- Larkin churned down the pool in the 16yrs boys to claim 1^st with Fred Batt touching 2^nd while  Lucy Campbell touched 1^st for the girls with Demi Goldsworthy 2^nd and Katie Williams 3^rd. The Open swimming field was a bit light on with all swimmers from Archie Black. Girls 1^st was Morgan Williams with Sally Carrington 2^nd and boys 1^st was Harrison Phillott  with Toby Paynter 2^nd.

Finally the last individual races which was the 50m backstroke. In the 13 yrs  Allan Rau swam into a 1^st place followed by Clint Rayment 2^nd Jack Gillatt 3^rd while in the girls race it was Hayley Condon 1^st Brianna Innes 2^nd Jaimi Rossow 3^rd.14 yr old  age group’s  Keesha  Whyte claimed 1^st convincingly while Ashlee Walsh swam 2^nd and Raven Guy 3^rd in the girls race while Jayden Pickering just touched in front of Tuk Kuwajima in the boys race. 14 yrs saw Madi Smith touch 1^st followed by Kate Miller 2^nd Jemimah Phillott 3^rd  in the girls  and in the boys Haidyn Kettunen claimed 1^st, Dale Perrett 2^nd and Colin Rayment 3^rd .  16 yr old Darcy Ginns- Larkin finished his last individual race with another record (32.57) in front of Fred Batt 2^nd while Lucy Campbell claimed another 1^st in the 16 yrs girls with Demi Goldsworthy 2^nd and Rachael Dahl 3^rd. Final Open event saw the tussle between Harrison and Toby finishing with Harrison touching 1st  and Toby 2^nd with Roy claiming 3^rd. Sally Carrington touched 1^st for the girls with Morgan Williams 2^nd and Hayley Whiting 3^rd.

Finally the freestyle relays to top off the Carnival saw the teams eager  to swim for their Houses.

In the Junior  Girls Archie claimed 1^st, Bacon 2^nd and Bryce 3^rd while in the Junior Boys Bacon touched 1^st and Dickson 2^nd. In the Senior Relay the results were the same for both girls and boys: ArchieBlack 1^st, Bacon Bacon 2^nd, Bryce Dickson 3^rd.
