Valentines Day Dinner

On the 14th February the dorm staff hosted a Valentines dinner for all residential students. Heart shaped name tags were made with all the girls’ names on them. The boys had to draw a name out and then go to girl’s dorm and escort their date to dinner. Much fun and laughter was heard all over the campus. On arrival to escort the girls the boys gave them a heart shaped lollipop and the girls handed out homemade chocolates.

They were all asked to dress in their best attire and many of the students went to a lot of trouble to look their best. We were all treated to a scrumptious meal of roast lamb and meringue filled with cream and fruit.

The prize for the best dressed boy and girl went to Sally Carrington and Colin Rayment. Cutest couple was Michaela Henry and Hayden Holdcroft. A special mention went to Errol Miller for his effort in dressing up.

Over the period of the night the kitchen staff noticed one young lad treating his date with extra care. This young man Ben Smith waited on his young lady all night so they felt he deserved a mention and a prize. He certainly showed the true spirit of Valentine’s Day.

A good night was had by all.
