Secondary Interschool Sport

BTC students competed against ASSG this week.  2nds softball won on a forfeit. 12/13's softball went down to a well drilled ASSG team while 14's softball had an impressive win over ASSG.
On Thursday the 1sts team had a nail biting but good win over ASSG 10-4 while the 15's blitzed the opposition. Three impressive home runs by Teah Schaefer.

Junior Assembly

Junior students had their first assembly for Term 4. Class awards went to Kia, Kody, Mack, Shantelle, Charli, Will, Bailey and Ainsley. Taia and Nate have recently celebrated their birthdays.

Brisbane Writers Festival

Last term Year 8 student Kate McCullough was a guest author at the Brisbane Writers Festival. Kate thoroughly enjoyed the experience, of not only talking about her writing experiences but also being able to network with other authors. She particularly enjoyed talking with Li Cunix who is the author of Mayo's Last Dancer.

Blackthorn Kindy Kids Scavenger Hunt

The Kindy Kids went on a scavenger hunt around the College grounds. Armed with egg cartons to store their finds, they had pictures of nature objects to find around the College. Principal, Mr Nigel Fairbairn chatted to the keen explorers as they collected their treasures.

Dunny Derby Success

Cobgratulations to our BTC Blue Flush team for winning the Ladies Bracelet in the Winton Dunny Derby.  BTC team of Peta McAllister, Katie Williams, Bianca West, Merial Kenni and Jemimah Phillott put in a big effort at the end to win by a whisker. Well done girls!



BTC Goes Solar

Over the holidays work has been done on putting solar panels on the roofs of BTC. With so much sunshine in Charters Towers it is a great idea.
