Rugby Tenz
The much awaited Rugby Tenz Interschool Competition was played on Friday evening with the finals played Saturday morning. Once again the girls rugby was a crowd pleaser with the girls putting in the big runs and tackles.BTC girls played ASSG first. There were a few nerves as they ran on but after half time our girls were enjoying themselves. Unfortunately the well drilled ASSG team not only won the game but they also went onto to win the finals. In the last game of the evening the girls lined up against CCC for a fun entertaining game. While the girls came second in their final encounter, they were pleased their tired bosies did not have to line up for another game on Saturday morning. the 13's 15's and Open Boys all made it into the finals and were playing CCC in all games. The 13's were down to 10 players due to injury woes and put up a valiant game with Tuk and Brodie putting in big efforts and thanks to Dylan Knuth for playing with the BTC team, but unfortunately they went down to the bigger CCC team. 15's were also without Fred Batt and again played well but just couldn't claim the win although they were in the hunt at only 3 points down until CCC scooted over for a try . Time beat the BTC boys efforts to pull back the lead. Finally the Open Boys lined up against CCC. The boys posted the first try but without the conversion lead 5 nil until the speed of CCC broke away and claimed a converted try to lead 7-5 at half time. The BTC boys rallied and came back with 2 more tries leading 17-7 until and quick try from CCC in the dying seconds of the game gave CCC 5 more points but they could not catch the BTC boys. Full time hooter saw BTC 17 CCC 12. Well done for a stellar year for the Open Boys. Man of the Match went to Scott Cerqui. Thanks to all the supporters (and there were many!) and the teachers coaching the teams- Ms Turner, Mr Wager, Mr West and Mr Dalitz.
