At this week's assembly , Jaimi and Katelyn were presented with awards from the Charters Towers Show entries. Rugby league 1sts Coach Max Batt presented 1sts and Confro Captain, Brennan Leggett with the Nubic Trophy which was a trophy to celebrate the win the 1sts team had against ASSG in 1975...after not posting a win against ASSG for 25 years. some of the team members were back for their 40 year reunion. Max also presented a framed jersey from the BTC team that attended the very first Confraternity Carnival in 1980. Thanks to David Jones for providing this framed jersey. On the frame are the BTC Captains of the Confraternity teams since that inaugural competition in Bundaberg.
Also Hayley Condon was congratulated for achieving a Sporting Scholarship from the Charters Towers Council.
Finally, Year 8 author, Kate McCullough, was congratulated for being invited to the Brisbane Writers Festival on September 5th, where she will be presenting.
