The newly furbished memorial fountain area looked great as people gathered for the Reunion Memorial Service. The boys were solemn and respectful as they marched in the front gates to assemble at the fountain before laying a flag for each of the fallen Thornburgh Men. Pots of flowers were presented to be planted around the fountain. David Carroll provided the musical reflection singing We Will Remember Them, which was written for the 100 year commemoration of the Anzacs. The crowd then moved into the hall for the church service where Mrs McCubben gave her address which beautifully highlighted the larrikin spirit of Australians even when faced with the adversity of war. Mr Phillott spoke on behalf of the Board before Mr Bowden announced the three new Inductees to the Wall of Achievement. These were Dr Amanda Baxter (Service to Medicine-Mental Health), Dr Samuel Goodwin (Service to Medicine) and Donald Griffin (Service to Business and Athletics-Distance Running). Mrs Mc Cubben and Trevor Berryman introduced the College to a new hymn- The Great Southland of the Holy Spirit.
After the service, guests moved to Thornburgh House for morning tea.
