NQ Cross Country

The BTC Cross Country team ran well at the Townsville course. Individual results included
13yrs- Kelsey 10th, Megan 20th, 14 yrs- Catherine 8th, Tenisha 14th. 15yrs- Hayley 12th, Sophie 11th, Mitch 7th. 16yrs Maddison 13th, India 8th, Evie 12th, Lachlan 19th, Brodie 22nd. Open- BouDean 14th, Jemimah 10th, Madi 16th.

Both teams played with strength, determination and sportsmanship in their games.The boys won 4 games, tied 1 game and lost 1 game. The girls won 6 out of 10 games. Both teams placed 3rd in their division.

Mathematics Competition Teams with teacher Mrs Donaldson

The Year 8 maths students were invited to compete in the Charters Towers Division of the Queensland Association of Maths Teacher competition at CCC. B.T.C. 1 team, Lachlan Wearing, Jack Donaldson and Sarah Epong placed second, whilst the other members of the over all teams placed 6th and 8th. All students are to be congratulated on their efforts on the day. B.T.C. 1 narrowly missed winning the divisional competition by a mere question.

BTC Entrants in Waltzing Matilda Bush Poetry Awards

Year 9 students who entered the Winton Waltzing Matilda Bush Poetry competition in Term 1. The students were required to write an Australian themed ballad. Jemimah Phillot was awarded third prize overall in the secondary division of the competition, while Madi Smith, was awarded Second place overall in the secondary division. Taylor Casson was listed as a finalist in the secondary division. The other students pictured all received either a Very Highly Commended or a Highly Commended award from the competition. All students are to be congratulated
