Students, staff and families gathered at the World Theatre for the Annual Co-curricular Awards Night. After speeches by Bridget (Girls Sport Captain), Digby (Boys Sport Captain), Nicola (Instrumental Captain) and Hayley (Vocal Captain) ,the Best and Fairest and Age Champions of Sports were awarded. The much anticipated slide show of the sports in review was welcomed by the students, checking to see if they were featured. The "lessons to be learnt" were informative and funny. The, Zac Santo featured and Hudson Fox created ,video "Camp Biggest Pajino" was very well done with an excellent message .Many Duke of Edinburgh Awardees were presented with Mr Horne gaining the Gold Award for 2010. Debating Drama and Dance Awards were also presented to worthy recipients while President of the Interact Club, Jarrah, gave a detailed recount of the many wonderful and worthy causes the Interact Club has supported.The drama group provided a comical review of the year. It is always great to see students enjoying themselves as they entertain others. Well done to them all. I loved the Cattle Club skit......The team presentations were next with seven teams taking out Undefeated Premiers Pennants....and a mention of the U15 Undefeated Rugby League Boys for 3 years (again)....great job boys. The Senior Vocal group performed for the last time and Nicola showcased her singing talent with Jarrah and Digby. Finally the time we were waiting for. Junior Sportswoman- Maddie Fox, Junior Sportsman- Doug Rayment, Senior Sportwoman- Bridget Tully and Senior Sportman- Zac Santo. Overall Winning Girls House- Bacon. Overall Boys House-Bacon. After a finale dance item "Chicago" by the Power Up dancers, it was time for Mr Gilbert to say his thanks and inform everyone that after 5 years as Head of Sports he would be moving back to SE Qld (Kingaroy) . Thanks for all you have done for the students of BTC, Mr Gilbert.
