Primary Cup Netball

BTC Primary Netball Team travelled to Townsville to compete in the Primary Netball Cup competition.Game 1 against Bwgcolman BTc won 14-2. In the 2nd game BTC defeated St Josephs 14-1. BTC continued playing well to defeat Bluewater 19-1 and win their pool of games. In the final they played their best against a taller and well drilled Magnetic Island team but unfortunately went down 1-14. BTC's GA,Amy Neville, won the Best and Fairest Player. Congratulations to the team of Amy, Georgia,Jessica, Jessee, Teearni, Meaghan, Brianna, Sophie and Lauren. Thanks To Mrs Cerqui and Mrs Neville for coaching and umpiring, Marnie for organising and thanks to Mrs Mintram for taking photos.

The Year 8 maths students were invited to compete in the Charters Towers Division of the Queensland Association of Maths Teacher competition at CCC. B.T.C. 1 team, Lachlan Wearing, Jack Donaldson and Sarah Epong placed second, whilst the other members of the over all teams placed 6th and 8th. All students are to be congratulated on their efforts on the day. B.T.C. 1 narrowly missed winning the divisional competition by a mere question.

BTC Entrants in Waltzing Matilda Bush Poetry Awards

Year 9 students who entered the Winton Waltzing Matilda Bush Poetry competition in Term 1. The students were required to write an Australian themed ballad. Jemimah Phillot was awarded third prize overall in the secondary division of the competition, while Madi Smith, was awarded Second place overall in the secondary division. Taylor Casson was listed as a finalist in the secondary division. The other students pictured all received either a Very Highly Commended or a Highly Commended award from the competition.
