Interschool Sport

After many cancellations due to rain, a full round of sport was finally played this week against ASSG. U 13's, 2nds and 1sts softball had wins while U15's and 2nds tennis had wins as well. By all reports all teams played well.

The Year 8 maths students were invited to compete in the Charters Towers Division of the Queensland Association of Maths Teacher competition at CCC. B.T.C. 1 team, Lachlan Wearing, Jack Donaldson and Sarah Epong placed second, whilst the other members of the over all teams placed 6th and 8th. All students are to be congratulated on their efforts on the day. B.T.C. 1 narrowly missed winning the divisional competition by a mere question.

Year 9 students who entered the Winton Waltzing Matilda Bush Poetry competition in Term 1. The students were required to write an Australian themed ballad. Jemimah Phillot was awarded third prize overall in the secondary division of the competition, while Madi Smith, was awarded Second place overall in the secondary division. Taylor Casson was listed as a finalist in the secondary division. The other students pictured all received either a Very Highly Commended or a Highly Commended award from the competition.
