After many hours practicing, the House Challenge from Term 1 was ready. students had to choose a song from the 90's and perform it. All Houses did a great job and were very entertaining. the judging panel, after much deliberation, placed Bacon Bacon 3rd and, with only 1 point separating them, Bryce Dickson 2nd and Archie Black 1st.
Mr Fairbairn and the College Captains displayed the new BTC flag. College Captains and Vice Captains were presented with a congratulatory certificate from Senator Ian McDonald.
Both Captains travelled to Townsville to compete in the Lions Youth of the Year Competition, with Thornburgh Captain, Lachlan Wearing winning the competition for the zone. Blackheath Captain, Amy Neville,has been asked to sing the anthem at the Charters Towers Anzac Day Service.
Sam Shadbolt received recognition for being part of the State Ensemble Program.
In the sporting field, of AFL, Babetha Nona was recognised for her selection in the Peninsula u15 AFL team and Josh Abbott in the NQ AFL team.
Mr Fairbairn acknowledged the contribution of leaving staff members, Peta McAllister and Melinda Chin and Ashlee Walsh presented Ms McAllister with a thank you gift from her Drama and English students.
In closing Mr Fairbairn wished everyone a restful Easter break.
