The Variety Club Car Rally came to Charters Towers for a few days. With over 300 participants, BTC 's "Dam Oval" looked like a camping park for 2 days. The College provided space to camp, toilets and showers and food. It also organised and catered for the dinner at the Titley Centre on Monday night. Students washed the cars on Tuesday norning to raise much needed funds to be a 'liberty swing' for Lissner Park. A liberty swing allows wheelchairs to attach ti it so that children in wheelchairs can enjoy the feeling of swinging through the air without having to leave the safety of their chair. BTC Interact group is aiming to raise money toward the purchase of this swing.A HUGE thanks to Mr Gray for co-ordinating this fundraising venture, the kitchen staff, the students and the teaching staff who gave up a lot of their time on an already busy show weekend. It was a hugely successful venture.
