Primary School Interhouse Cross Country

Mother Nature smiled down upon BTC for the Junior School Cross country. After seemingly endless days of rain, the sun shone and we had a dry day for our Interhouse Cross Country. With lots of parents on hand to support and cheer,  the students took off at a great pace. Age Champions in the girls were U7 Jade Stoll, U8 Poppy Prichard, U 9 Emma Eberle, U10 Ronnie Critchley, U11 Sophie Mc Laren and U12 India Aitchison. In the overall House Results for girls Bryce came in 1^st, Archie 2^nd and Bacon 3^rd. Boys Age Champions were U7 Jakeb Vailalo, U8 Hayden Gallagher, U9 Harry Mintram, U10 Connor Neville, U 11 Liam Dumsney, U12 Takami Kuwajima. Overall Boys House results were Dickson 1^st, Black 2^nd and Bacon 3^rd.

Last Round of Term 1 Sport

Last round of games saw some good results for BTC. With the amount of rain around and a cyclone, the number of games played this term was limited. A result was made according to the games that were played. In the Tennis we had the 2nds as Undefeated Premiers and in the 14 yrs there was a three way tie for Premiers. The 1sts came 3rd,  the 15yrs came 2nd  and 13 Yrs placed 4th. Well done to all our Tennis teams. In the Softball the 1sts were extremely unlucky not to be Premiers but to place a close 2nd, the15's were in a three way tie for Premiers, while both the 13's and 14's were in a three way tie for 2nd. Great job to all our softball teams.

"Being a Scientist" Day Prep and Year One

Prep and Year One students recently visited the DPI to try out some jobs that Scientists do. They met Dr John and Dr Karl who showed them different grasses and looked at some parts - roots, seeds. The students saw which grasses were good for cows to eat.Each student was given a NLIS tag (National Livestock Indentification Scheme). They became "cows" and when they walked across the scales they were weighed and their name was spelt out.The students also got to examine a pigs heart, lung and liver and a cow's kidney. They then got to look at a termite through a microscope before finally being given a drawing to colour in and a freddo frog to eat. What a GREAT excursion.
