Students and staff dressed in a tropical theme and paid a gold coin donation to help raise money to help residents from Vanuatu after Cyclone Pam damaged the islands.

BTC Junior Duathlon
On Sunday morning families gathered at the BTC Oval to take part in the Junior Duathlon.While originally to be a Triathlon, the closure of the pool for repairs, prompted the Duathlon Event which comprised of a run, ride and run. Competitors from aged 4 years to 14 years entered into their events and competed in their respective races. In the 4-6 years age group , all competitors received a ribbon. In the 7-9 Years age groups the top three boys were Jackson Walsh 1st, Brock Critchley 2nd and Lincon Foot 3rd while the top three girls were Alexandra Holt 1st, Sally Broad 2nd and Grace Ferguson 3rd. In the 10-12 years age group line honours in the boys went to William Holt 1st, Mac Broad 2nd and Dylan Gillard 3rd while line honours in the girls went to Jasmine Thompson 1st, Jahana Critchley 2nd and Sarah Milton 3rd. In the 10-14 years Luka Hall took out the girls champion in a time of 12.36 while Slayd Hall took out the boy's champion in a time of 12.50. Ronnie Critchley and Taylor Hughes competed as a team.
BTC Principal , Mr Nigel Fairbairn, welcomed all competitors from the Charters Towers Community, thanked P & F President Mrs Zoey Marshall and her band of workers for organising and hosting this event and Sportspower for sponsoring the prizes for the older age groups.
