Primary Interschool Cross Country

BTC Primary students headed to CCC for the annual Interschool Cross Country. The new course had all the competitors abuzz with anticipation and excitement.   The 10 year olds lined up first to complete their 3km race. Hayden Gallagher, Jahana Critchley, Lili Clavis and Erin Neville ran good races to finish in the top 20 runners. Our 11 year old runners included Riley Casson, Emma Eberle , Heath Treacy and Ned Marshall.. Riley, Emma and Heath finished well in the top half of the finishers while Ned is to be congratulated for giving his best. The 12 year old  race gave BTC their best results of the morning. In a close tussle Connor Neville claimed 3rd over team mate Jack Donaldson 4th with Harry McQueen and  Will Batt finishing strongly. In the girls race Annaliese Luckman sprinted in to claim the 3rd place while Ronnie Critchley finished well to receive 5th place.  Taylor Hughes and Bree-anna Eberle ran well to finish in the top 20 place getters.
BTC came 5th in the Aggregate trophy  and 2nd in the Average trophy. Congratulations to  Connor Neville and Jack Donaldson who made the Charters Towers team to compete in the NQ Championships .

Junior School Interhouse Cross Country

The Junior School students lined up at the BTC oval for their Interhouse Cross Country. After a warm up led by some Senior students, the first race was the U6 years who ran around the oval with Brock  Critchley running a pretty slick time. The second race saw the older students 12/13 yrs  line up for the 3km run which was 4 laps of the course. As each age group were out on the course another age group lined up until the U 7yrs were the last age group to run. Samuel McCartney crossed the finish line first in this age group. The Senior Health and PE Recreational class helped with marshalling, drink stops and at stations around the course. The Age Champions and winning Houses  for 2013 were as follows:
